Welcome to our upgraded travel blog. This blog started with extended trips to the Orient or East Asia. We then added the Pacific. Now there’s an exciting new dimension with our forethcoming visit to South America. It is very much our story and our personal exploration, hopefully capturing some interesting moments for friends, family and fellow travelers.

We started our adventure with a seven week road and sea trip from Bath, UK to Cyprus. Much of our adventure is captured in their our blog entitled Taking the Slow Road to Cyprus.

This blog, now entitled ‘Slow Travel in Distant Places’, describes our extended travels in Asia, the Pacific, with South America coming soon. Countries visited so far and featured in this blog include:

We enjoy Asia so much that we have returned many times. Whilst we shall be revisiting some of our favorites, we shall be visiting some new countries and places as well!

We hope that you enjoy following our adventures.

  1. Hello, can’t believe it’s over a year since you kindly hosted us to lots of food and drink! Glad to see that you are well into your travelling – your blogs show that you are really enjoying it. Interesting to read your comments about Italy and its food/costs. We are hoping to spend 8-10 weeks there in Spring, touring the north by train. Although M now has a complete new knee and convalescence may yet mean postponing the trip a year. Where’s your next port of call? Carry on travelling!

    • Hello Marge & Ken, so lovely to hear from you! We’re glad that you are enjoying our blogs – they’re a lot of fun to write & provide us with a more vivid memory too. We’re currently releasing our blogs about six weeks after the event because of difficulties in publishing from China etc. We’re currently in Borneo, plan to return to Peninsular Malaysia & Thailand before heading back to Europe.

Italy is still very special but we found it very expensive these days.

We hope that M’s knee is healing well & otherwise you are both well.
